Moving on up!

Well, Laurie and I have taken the plunge and bought a house in Northwest Evanston. Although we have loved our place for the past 5 years, the lure of a lawn to mow and sidewalks to shovel was too much for me to resist. The downside is that the house needs major renovation (mostly to get rid of the cigarette stink) and we won't be able to move in for 6-8 months. We'll be adding a second story and renovating the kitchen. When all is said and done, this really will be the Davidson dreamhouse. Great street, great schools and nice neighbors. Can't wait for you all to come and see it.

So glad to see the new addition

Seems like we've been waiting for such a long time for this baby to arrive and what a beauty! Congratulations to all the Davidsons in Louisville - soon to be Davidsons in Seattle! I'm sure that Scott's romping to and fro to the pacific NW has not been easy - heck, let's say it, it's probably been downright annoying... "I know you... you're my father? "... well, all that has come to an end, and not a minute too soon, I'm sure.

Obviously, we can't really compete with the arrival of the special bundle - not that we have a competitive thing going on - but we'd like to give some glimpses of what it was like to have Mom and Dad here not too long ago... though it now seems like AGES! I know I circulated a link to the flickr site a wee bit ago, so no doubt many will have seen some of these piccies anyways, but in case not... We spent a long weekend at Center Parcs - which was absolutely fab! Each Center Parcs site is set in wooded area and the only time when cars are allowed on the site are during specific times (either on a Friday or Monday), the rest of the time, it's either foot-mobiles or, you guessed it, bikes... very family friendly.. monster indoor wave pool with water slides... more activities (climbing, boating, archery, falconry.. . you name it, they got it) than you can shake a stick at... such a great time - but with babies in the trolley... it did get a bit tiring.. there is a train that is allowed to circumnavigate the park for those not wanting to take the people-powered options...

For those who I forgot to send a link to our flickr page, here's the link: October 2007

much love from all of us over here!

The newest addition to the Davidson Clan has arrived!

Catherine Rose Davidson was born at 4:58am on Thursday, November 1st. It was an amazing labor and delivery experience for both Amy and I, and we are still in the "glow" of the moment. Catherine weighed in at 8 pounds 3 ounces and was 20 inches long. Both Mom and baby are doing well and will come home from the hospital tomorrow morning. Here are a couple of early pictures, and we will post more later after things have had a chance to settle down.

Much love,
Scott
